A lanyard as a driver of innovation? ADITUS proves that even the smallest products can make a big impact. The company’s in-house developed lanyard has now been officially patented by the German Patent and Trade Mark Office. At the same time, it was honoured with the iF DESIGN AWARD 2025.

The Concept Behind Our Patented One-Material Lanyard
The fastening system is based on a smart and minimalistic design. Notches at the ends of the lanyard are threaded directly through a specially designed hole in the badge. The clever part: the sustainable lanyard does not require any additional connecting parts such as clips or carabiners. This straightforward yet highly functional approach was also recognised by the German Patent and Trade Mark Office, which granted patent protection under the title “Carrying Strap and Carrying Strap Arrangement” (File number DE 10 2024 100 686.2). The true innovation lies in its simplicity.
Recognised by the iF DESIGN AWARD 2025
In spring 2025, the lanyard was honoured with the iF DESIGN AWARD in the Public/Retail category. The international jury praised its sustainable material concept, resource-saving construction, and practical use at events. ADITUS lanyards are made entirely from recycled PET (rPET) and contain no metal or other connecting parts. The result: a single-material product that is fully recyclable – ideal for sustainable events that take responsibility seriously. With this innovative solution, ADITUS is among the top entries selected from nearly 11,000 submissions from 66 countries.

“I didn’t just co-develop this product – it challenged me emotionally and creatively. We stitched, tested, debated, discarded ideas, and rethought everything. To me, it’s more than just a lanyard: it represents a shift towards a more sustainable event industry,” says Hersa Luzoff, Team Lead Design & Communication at ADITUS. “Holding both a patent and an iF DESIGN AWARD in our hands makes me proud. It shows what’s possible when you approach things with fresh thinking.”
